: Aditya Thackeray called JNU violence wrong, NCP said – BJP is spoiling the atmosphere through ABVP

JNU Violence

Mumbai: The issue of havan and non-veg dispute is now gaining momentum on the day of Ram Navami in the Kaveri Hostel of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Aaditya Thackeray, a minister in the Maharashtra government, has rubbished the violence on the JNU campus over alleged non-veg food. Aditya Thackeray said that students should focus on studies. What happened in JNU is wrong. Issues of gender equality and oral hygiene need to be addressed. On the other hand, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), an ally in the Maharashtra government, has targeted the BJP over the JNU violence. NCP said that BJP is communalizing secular educational institutions through ABVP.

NCP's Maharashtra unit chief spokesperson Mahesh Taapsee accused the BJP of disturbing social harmony and bringing "authoritarian and majoritarian" rule in the country and said that is why its volunteers are working in this manner. Taapsee alleged that the NCP strongly condemns the incident of violence on the JNU campus. BJP is communalizing our secular educational institutions through ABVP. It has been seen time and again that ABVP volunteers are trying to impose their right wing ideologies on the students of many institutions.

this is the whole matter

In fact, in a 'mess' between two groups of JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Cauvery hostel of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday for allegedly serving non-vegetarian food on Ram Navami. There was a clash. Both sides have accused each other of pelting stones. Left affiliated organizations claimed that around 50 of their members were injured, while the ABVP said 10-12 of its workers were injured.
