Late night, there has been a fierce clash between two groups in Mankhurd area of Mumbai. After which about 30 to 40 unidentified people created a ruckus and ransacked many vehicles. After this incident which happened late night, Section 144 has been imposed in the entire Mankhurd area from Monday morning. It is forbidden to stand here more than 4 people together. A heavy police force has been deployed in the area.
According to the information, 30 to 40 people entered PMGP Colony in Mankhurd area at around 10 pm on Sunday and started vandalizing the vehicles parked there. In their hands were sticks and swords. After committing the crime, all the accused fled from the spot. The miscreants also vandalized several autorickshaws.

There is an atmosphere of tension in the area after this sudden attack. After this attack there was chaos and people started running here and there. However, police reached the spot shortly after getting the information. Additional level officers are present on the spot in the area. Registering a case against unknown people is investigating.
Police asked to avoid rumours
Senior Police Inspector Mahadev P Kolo said that several videos and messages are circulating on social media after the incident. He has asked people not to pay heed to any rumours. However, the police may issue an official statement in this regard today.
Angry people protested
Angry over the incident, local people also created ruckus till late night. After which the police reached and pacified them. After this, the Mumbai Police personnel kept patrolling in the area all night.

Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi condemned the incident and said that incidents of violence are being done for political gains. Apart from Mankhurd area, there have been incidents of violence in Malad Maloni area. Cars have been broken into. The swords have been taken out. Mumbai Police has complete information about the incident. Government should take strict action on this. On the same incident, BJP MP from North-East Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency Manoj Kotak said that the matter of violence in PMGP Colony is very serious. The MP said that they are monitoring the matter and are in touch with the authorities. Kotak has appealed to the people to maintain peace.
