On the other hand, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan strongly criticized Nitish Kumar for resigning as the Chief Minister of Bihar by breaking ties with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and alleged that he has insulted the mandate for the second time. Paswan demanded imposition of President's rule in Bihar and fresh elections.
Amid the political upheaval in Bihar after Nitish's resignation, Chirag came out in support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that the saffron party had accepted what Nitish Kumar wanted as chief minister. He said that even the BJP compromised its policies for him.
Chirag said, 'Nitish Kumar has once again insulted the mandate. They have lost their credibility…is this a joke? Once you form the government with someone and second time with someone else. Assembly elections should be held for the new mandate.
