 Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday met Governor Fagu Chauhan and submitted his resignation. He had sought time at four o'clock in the evening to meet the governor. But they reached Raj Bhavan about 20 minutes earlier. A large number of supporters were also standing in front of the Raj Bhavan with him. It is being told that with the resignation, Nitish Kumar has staked claim to form the government with 160 MLAs of the Grand Alliance. Congress MLA Ajit Sharma told that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government can be held on Wednesday.

After submitting his resignation to the Governor of Bihar, JDU leader Nitish Kumar said that all the MPs and MLAs are on the consensus that we should leave the NDA. Soon after, I resigned as the Chief Minister of Bihar. On being asked what was the problem with the BJP for him or the party, Nitish Kumar said that he will answer this question further. After this, he directly left for Rabri Devi's residence from there.

JDU has taken this decision in view of the reaction of the MLAs against the BJP in the party.
